New reports suggest that Intel will offer significant improvements in AI performance with its Panther Lake.
According to TechNock, in the fourth quarter 2024 earnings report session, Intel CEO Pat Glinsger announced that the Core Ultra platform will be expanded later this year with the production of new families including Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake, which will increase the performance capabilities of artificial intelligence by 3 times. .
The next chapter of the Core Ultra series in 2025 will lead to a doubling of power for desktops and notebooks with the release of Panther Lake processors.
Klinsger talked about the readiness of the 18A technology process, which will replace the 20A process, which is currently used by Intel’s Arrow Lake processor. Meanwhile, Xeon Granite Rapids / Sierra Forest processors will use Intel 3 technology in the second half of 2024.
wccftech He writes that Intel has announced that the Clearwater Forest processors have been completed and have now entered the manufacturing plants. Clearwater chips are built on the next-generation Darkmont E-Core architecture and target the cloud data center market with 288 cores. Currently, Intel has started preparing these chips.
With the completion of Clearwater Forest chips, Intel’s Panther Lake processors will also enter factories; But they are not expected to be available in stores until 2025. Panther Lake processors are going to use Cougar Cove P-Cores cores and next generation Xe3 graphics architecture called Celestial. Each processor will offer improvements over the previous generation in terms of core and graphics capabilities and performance.
Also, Intel explained about its AI accelerators with the release of Gaudi 3 this year, announcing that it will quadruple performance and double network bandwidth; Meanwhile, work on Falcon Shores’ next-generation GPU continues.
Intel will hold the IFS Direct Connect 2024 event on February 21; Therefore, we can expect more details on the process roadmap and related products at that event. In the table below, you can see the comparison of Intel desktop CPU generations:
